ABOUT MICHAEL BLAIR

Resides- Empire Bay NSW (Central Coast) Australia
Job – Carpenter

Racing career started in Dirt track 2009. Michael had been playing rugby league footy when at 15 he decided he wanted to go riding. There is nowhere to ride close to home so he found himself joining Central Coast Junior Motorcycle Club. The committee at the time were keen to host big events and Michael entered club days and Titles events. In a competitive era of junior racing Michael placed in 5 Australian titles and won 3 NSW State titles.

2012 was his first full Road Racing Season. Improving each meeting he was hooked.

2013 he placed 3rd overall in the 2013 ASBK Supersport Championship his consistency (rarely off the podium) and 2 wins from 2 races at Queensland Raceway. The Championship ended with Daniel Falzon 1st and Aaron Morris 2nd. 2013 was a very competitive year for ASBK.

2013 Australian FX Championship Michael finished 6th even though he’d missed a few races due to clashes in racing calendar with the Asian Road Racing Championship.

2014 turned pear shape after Michael had a huge crash in the WSBK Australian Supersport support event at Phillip Island. Turn 3 - full noise he hit a damp patch and somersaulted into gravel. Injuring hand and wrist he wouldn’t race until the end of the year. His race results were good in the last Australian FX meeting at Eastern Creek where he had 3rds and 4ths but was still racing with pain.

2015 Michael was determined to get to his previous form and build on it. (his plan for 2014 that wasn’t to be). A brilliant start – a clean sweep of Round 1 ASBK at Phillip Island (held with WSBK 2015)

This year Michael will compete in 2015 Australasian Superbike Championship (ASC) and the 2015 Asian Road Racing Championship (ARRC).

So far in 2015 he has 4 championship points in the extremely competitive Asia Road Racing Championship and in the most recent ASC took 3 from 3 in the FX champs at Round 2 Mallala and backed it up with a first place overall on Sundays ASC round.
